Description

Pierre-Yves together which his wife Caroline Morey, daughter Jean-Marc Morey, began a Négociant business, buying grapes to make 6 barrels of wine in 2001. Since then the merchant has expanded to over 5ha of vines himself and buys a further 3 to increase the range of prestigious appellations such as Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières and Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières. There is only 1 red wine from this Domaine, so this is essentially a white wine Domaine. The chardonnay is pressed as whole bunches – Pierre-Yves believes that high-pressure presses are important to avoid premature oxidation. The whites are rich yet elegant.

The Les Caillerets is high in altitude with stonier, chalk soil. The free-draining soils help in wetter summers – the wine is rich and concentrated. with a fine balance of fruit and acidity.
