Domaine Robert Ampeau is currently run by Michel Ampeau who took over the running of the family estate after the passing of Robert in 2004, in his days, Robert was the first to introduce grass in between the rows of vines to force the roots to go deeper into the ground to search for nutrients and hence adding to the complexity of the wines. The vineyards are also meticulously tended and work in the cellars are traditional yet unique in that they bottle their wines after just 10 months in barrels and ageing them in bottle.
