Le Clos Du Caillou 2015 Côtes du Rhône La Réserve Rouge

29 in stock

Nested in the edge of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Clos du Caillou was founded in 1895 when Élie Dussaud settled and created an old cellar. Today, the Domaine is in the hands of two talented winemakers, Sylvie Vacheron & Bruno Gaspard; both focused on perfecting the quality of their wines. Wines from Le Clos du Caillou are one of the most exceptional in the Côtes du Rhône appellation. Full-bodied – concentrated and richly textured. The vineyard’s old vines capture the spice and silk of old-vine Grenache grown in the region’s finest terroirs. Each wine reflects the native perfumes of the south, a harmonious blend of thyme, rosemary, and lavender that grows wild among the estate’s vines.

The 2013 La Réserve Rouge is fresh with moderate alcohol. This vintage is characterized by low yields and by atypical balances where the fruit wins on the power. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentations quickly ended giving a good balance to the wine with beautiful acidities, with moderate alcoholic degrees, and with a grenache on the fruit.
