Description

Domaine du Couvent by Philippe Cheron is our newfound discovery. The Domaine’s winery and cellars are located in the center of Nuits Saint Georges. The vaulted 19th-century cellars allow the wines to be aged in perfect conditions.

The Philippe Chéron 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Quarantes Ouvrées is nicknamed the ‘Open Quarantes’ – the vineyard in this appellation is symptomatic of the fragmentation of the village: 12 plots spread over 9 climates. The main plots of the estate are located in the heart of the Chambolle Musigny in the middle of the hillside: les Condemennes, Clos de l’Orme, and et Chardannes. Two-thirds of the vines are over 40 years old with low yields.

Chambolle is a feminine wine that expresses itself through charm and pleasure. With a few years of aging, its potency will be more caressing. The Les Quarantes Ouvrées is very representative of the appellation: intense red berries, elegance, delicacy but also roundness and smoothness.
